Police Officer

Basic Function

Under the direction of a Police Sergeant or the Chief of Police, performs proactive security, intervention, law enforcement, community relations and public information duties that provide a safe environment for students, staff, and the public while on campus properties, as well as protection of equipment and property of the district; Enforce applicable federal, state, city, county and district laws; enforce rules and regulations governing use of college buildings and grounds.

Representative Duties

1. Patrols campus grounds to preserve law and order. Ensures the safety of students, staff, visitors, and facilities. Upholds high standards of behavior, safety, judgment, sensitivity to the cultural diversity of the college community and compliance with laws, regulations, Board policies, and administrative procedures.
