Pool: Lecturer - Operations Management Program
The Operations Management Program in the School of Professional Studies at the University of Kansas Edwards Campus invites qualified scholars and professionals with experience in operations management to submit applications that will be reviewed by the faculty and placed in a pool for consideration for part-time lecturer positions. A lecturer teaches an undergraduate level course either in-person or online. Lecturers report to the director of the Operations Management Programs.

The successful candidate must have appropriate authorization to work in the U.S. before employment begins. Any employment with the University of Kansas is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a background check. Appointments are one semester, renewable and subject to review, funding and adequate student enrollment.
Due to complex state employment laws, the University of Kansas may be unable to hire fully remote workers for this position outside of Kansas.
Job Description
40% - Plans, prepares and presents lectures for one undergraduate or graduate course in operations management based on an approved course syllabus. Depending on the program, course and semester, instruction may be in-person one evening per week or online. Courses are either eight or sixteen weeks in length.
40% - Develops assignments, projects and exams. Supervises projects, evaluates student work and provides feedback to students. Maintains office hours as necessary to meet students' needs. In-person courses are livestreamed and recorded to support remote students.
20% - Maintains technologies, including a learning management system and a classroom lecture recording system.
Required Qualifications
1. Master's degree in operations management or other approved terminal.
2. Minimum of five years of professional experience.
3. Two years of supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Doctorate level degree in operations management or a closely related field.
2. Evidence of prior success in teaching, preferably both in-person and online (e.g., course evaluations, supervisor ratings).
3. Experience with a learning management system, a classroom lecture recording system, and live inclusion of remote students.
4. Certifications or credentials in the related area of expertise.
