Offer Description
Within the framework of the Jean Monnet Network "AdvancEU" (WP2 – Research) at the DIRPOLIS Institute (SSSA), the selected candidate will investigate the intersection of populism, illiberal constitutionalism, and EU enlargement. Key responsibilities include: Conducting comparative legal research on how populist and illiberal movements challenge or "weaponize" domestic and European constitutional structures against Article 2 TEU values; Designing innovative legal-institutional responses and policy recommendations to safeguard the Rule of Law and ensure "enlargement-proof" institutional designs for candidate states; Contributing directly to high-quality academic publications, European Commission deliverables, and WP4 dissemination activities (e.g., educational modules and seminars).
