Portal Chief or Crew Lead
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent guest service to fans attending Ohio State events
- Provide direct supervision to assigned crew of event staff at each event
- Ensure excellent guest service is being provided to guests by your staff
- Act as a second level of support to event staff to resolve guest issues in your assigned area
- Provide direct coaching and training to the staff assigned to your area
- Ensure that the staff assigned to you comply with policies & procedures included in the Event Staff Pocket Guide/Manual
- Occasionally fill in as a Supervisor, in their absence
- Scanning, counting and checking tickets at athletic contests and special events
- Conducting security screening of guests entering our facilities
- Provide excellent guest service to fans attending Ohio State events
- Directing and assisting guests to their seats or to find other amenities provided inside the facility
- Directing and assisting guests to services outside of the facility (roadways, restaurants, hotels, etc.)
- Assist with the enforcement of NCAA, Conference, University, and Athletic Department rules and regulations
- Recognize and check credentials, limit access to restricted areas of facilities
- Be an expert of and an advocate for Ohio State Athletics & the Schottenstein Center
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be able to stand on your feet for 4 hours or more, indoors and outdoors, rain or shine
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude at events at all times
- Ability to focus on listening and satisfying our guests
- Ability to maintain and support open communication with Event Management staff
- An interest in working with guests and fellow staff of varying backgrounds
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Excellent problem solving ability
