The detailed characterization of enzymes and compounds involved in microbial metabolism using organic chemical and biochemical approaches.

Scope of Work
1.Teaching Duties
Graduate courses in Japanese and English (Graduate School of Chemical Sciences and Engineering): Applied biochemistry (biosynthetic and metabolic engineering)
Undergraduate courses in Japanese (Course of Applied Chemistry): Introduction to biotechnology, Applied Chemistry Laboratory III (practice), English for chemistry, and Graduation Work.
2.Supervising Duties
The successful candidate is expected to guide and supervise both undergraduate and graduate students writing their theses.
3.Other Duties
Contributions to duties as a Faculty/Course committee member, etc. and active participation in service activities in the Division, Faculty, Course and/or University are expected.
