Field of Research and Scope:

Machine-learning based algorithms for information extraction from user-generated geo-data

Information fusion methods

Methodologies for multimodal relevance classification

Interaction with disaster managers to support decision-making in crisis management boards

Your tasks and responsibilities:

Conducting research
Writing academic publications
Attending national and international conferences
Supporting science communication activities
Collaborating with other research groups on an interdisciplinary basis
Helping to file applications for third-party funding
Complying with the institution’s academic standards and ethical guidelines

Your strengths and skills:

You must have completed a PhD degree (or an equivalent) in geoinformatics, computer science, mathematics, physics, computational neuroscience, or other relevant fields.
Excellent communication and social skills are required for working in an interdisciplinary and dynamic team as well as for conducting research independently.
Collaboration on publications with other members of the team is expected, aiming to publish in high-profile international journals and conferences.
Fluent in English
