Job Summary
The Kahlert School of Computing at the University of Utah invites applications for one a 1-year post-doctoral researcher, renewable up to 4 years, for interdisciplinary work applying tile-based programming abstractions to an adaptive mesh refinement computation.
Salary Range: $63K - $73K - Post-doc funding depending on experience, with additional benefits.
Responsibilities
This position has several responsibilities. The successful candidate will:
- Contribute to the development of the HashBrick library, an open source framework for adaptive mesh refinement, written in CUDA and supporting one-sided communication for scalability. The target architecture is a supercomputer with AMD MI300A GPU+CPU.
- Perform benchmarking studies to enhance scalability and achieve high node-level efficiency, surpassing existing AMR frameworks.
- Contribute to communication optimizations and code generation strategies for scalability on an exascale platform.
Qualifications
The Kahlert School of Computing is seeking a highly talented and committed individual with a demonstrated ability to work well with minimal supervision and with PhD students and external collaborators. Experience related to performance analysis and optimization, GPU architecture, and code generation are highly valuable. Opportunities are available for teaching training and experience.
