Offer Description
Candidates may enter the competition if they meet the criteria specified in Articles 113 and 116 of the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science (consolidated text: Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571, as amended) and in Table 6a of Appendix No. 4 to the Statute of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, constituting an appendix to Resolution No. 494 of the Senate of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn of 21 May 2019 on the Statute of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, as amended.

Skills/Qualifications
- Hold at least a doctoral degree in food technology and nutrition, biology, biotechnology, or a related discipline, obtained at an institution other than the institution where employment in this position is planned, or have completed at least a 10-month continuous and documented postdoctoral fellowship at an institution other than the institution implementing the project and in a country other than the country in which the doctoral degree was obtained.
- The doctoral degree must have been awarded no more than 12 years before 1 January of the year of employment in the project.
- Demonstrate fluent command of English sufficient for writing scientific publications;
Specific Requirements
Mandatory requirements:
- Have laboratory experience in microbiology;
- Documented experience in bacterial biofilm research, in particular involving foodborne pathogens;
- Documented ability to independently manage complex experimental systems and troubleshoot technical problems;
- Scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals documenting relevant experience;
- Documented experience in research on bacterial gene transfer;
- Ability to work in a team (including an international team) and to think analytically.
Additional assets for employment include:
- Knowledge of flow cytometry for assessing bacterial cell viability or cell membrane integrity;
- Experience working with lactic acid bacteria.

Employment conditions:
- Full-time employment contract;
- Employment period: 36 months;
- Remuneration: PLN 140,000 per year (gross/gross).
