FULL TIME RESEARCH ASSOCIATE

The C2SMART Center at NYU Tandon School of Engineering is seeking to hire a Full time Research Associate to work under the supervision of Professor Eugene Vinitsky.

The C2SMART Center focuses on academic investigations into metropolitan transit, gridlock mitigation, and vehicular innovations.
Responsibilities
Candidates will be responsible for creating human behavior simulation models for motorists, walkers, and bikers within a custom hardware-accelerated platform from the research group. Candidates will be responsible for expanding simulator capabilities, executing agent training routines, and refining algorithms to ensure peak system efficiency.
Salary range
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary for this position is $48,000 for full time depending on the candidate’s experience and qualification.
Expected start date and period of employment
Expected start date is: 7/1/2026. This position is expected to be for 12 months.
Candidates should have at least a BS in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field and 1 years of experience. Candidates will be required to present eligibility to work in the United States.
The successful candidate should have a demonstrated background in software engineering, reinforcement learning, or machine learning as exemplified by a strong publication record. Previous experience on software development is desired.
