The project will focus on synthesizing light activated ruthenium complexes for antifungal and antibiofilm activity with an emphasis on interruption of metal homeostatic pathways. Applicants with a strong background in bioinorganic chemistry, inorganic synthesis of light active complexes, or biology of human fungal pathogens are encouraged to apply. Most importantly we are looking for someone with enthusiasm for science and research, so applications from exceptional individuals who have a different scientific focus within fields related to different aspects of inorganic chemistry, biochemistry/chemical biology, or fungal biology are more than welcome. Candidates will have the opportunity to work in an interdisciplinary environment and have close interactions with other team members with diverse backgrounds in a variety of areas including bioinorganic chemistry, inorganic synthesis, bioanalytical chemistry, fungal biology, and chemical biology to broaden their skills.
Minimum Qualifications
- Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or a related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or a related discipline.
- Candidates should have a strong background in inorganic synthesis or a strong background in studying biochemical pathways in Candida or Cryptococcal fungal pathogens.
