Job Title: POST DOCTORAL FELLOW

Qualifications:

History

• Ph.D. from a reputed national or international university. Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D thesis and awaiting defence may also apply
• The candidate’s doctoral work must be on any scholarly area of modern Indian history, though they should be able to teach ancient and medieval history (Indian and global) at an undergraduate level. Deep familiarity with conceptual and methodological historiographic issues is a pre-requisite.
• The candidate should also be able to excel in a multi-disciplinary environment.
• A strong publication record, and international awards/exposure will be appreciated.

Interdisciplinary Humanities and Social Sciences

• Ph.D. from a reputed national or international university. Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D thesis and awaiting defence may also apply,
• The candidate’s doctoral work should emerge from a strong multidisciplinary background and thus be able to teach in at least two of the disciplines that MCH offers—English, History, Sociology and Philosophy. With this background, intrinsically interdisciplinary fields (such as Ethics or Environment, Indian Culture/Film) will be preferred.
• A strong publication record and international exposure/awards will be appreciated.

TENURE: The tenure of fellowship will be for two years. On completion of two years the candidate will be considered for Assistant Professor on tenure track basis based on the performance review.
