Activities and context
The post-doctoral fellow will work on a project focused on developing sustainable processes for biodiesel production and purification using ionic liquids as catalysts. To this end, the fellow will: develop and validate kinetic models for sunflower oil transesterification using HPLC data and non-linear regression; oversee experiments conducted by a master's student (ionic liquid synthesis and characterization, transesterification, and HPLC); develop liquid-liquid equilibrium (LLE) models; perform computational simulations; and contribute to the submission of articles to international journals in JCR.
Mandatory requirements
- Undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or related fields;
- PhD in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Industrial Biotechnology, or related fields, obtained within the last 2 years;
- Prior experience in mathematical modeling, data analysis, chromatography, organic compound synthesis (esterification/transesterification), and separation/purification;
- Sandwich PhD or dual-degree program;
- Minimum of 3 first-author articles in journals with a JCR > 2.0;
- Proficiency in written and spoken English;
- Availability for full-time dedication.
Desirable requirements
- At least one year of funded undergraduate research (scientific initiation);
- Oral presentation of thesis-related work at international scientific conferences;
- English language proficiency demonstrated by a certificate (IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge, among others).
For the purposes of this selection process, certificates will be accepted regardless of the validity period established by the issuing institution, provided they are used solely as evidence of proficiency.

The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 12,570.00 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent on items directly related to the research activity.
