Postdoctoral Position in HIV/Mtb co-infection therapy

Postdoctoral Research Associate Senior position is available in the Center for Biomedical Research at The University of Texas at Tyler Health Science Center. This is an NIH R01-supported position, which is immediately available to develop an immunotherapy to treat HIV/Mtb co-infection. In addition, the prospective candidate will also participate in a phage therapy project that aims to develop a cure for multi-drug resistant Mtb infection.
The expertise/experience required for this position include extensive expertise in immunology, virology, and microbiology. In addition, extensive expertise in using multicolor flow cytometry and in handling small animals (e.g., tail-vein injection and retro-orbital bleeding techniques, etc.) are highly required. Relevant training is available upon hiring.
Successful candidates are expected to have a recent Ph.D. in Biological Sciences such as immunology, virology, biochemistry, molecular and cell biology, and other related fields. Candidates with prior research experience in HIV and Mtb are especially encouraged to apply.
