Department of Materials, Parks Road, Oxford
The Department of Materials is looking to recruit a fixed term Post doctoral research assistant in irradiation damage of high temperature superconductors. We are looking for a researcher with expertise in cryogenic transport measurements of high temperature superconductors and irradiation damage of materials to work on a large EPSRC-funded project on high temperature superconductors for fusion technologies. This post is full time and fixed term until 30 June 2027.
We are looking for an outstanding researcher with a background in transport measurements of high temperature superconductors and irradiation damage of materials, who is self-motivated and able to plan and deliver a complex research project. You will have a relevant PhD (or be near completion) in Materials Science or Physics and will have hands on experience of performing cryogenic transport measurements and planning irradiation campaigns. You will be working as part of a team of researchers in the Materials Department, bringing expert knowledge to drive forward our pioneering in situ irradiation experiments.
