The University is seeking to recruit a post-doctoral research associate to undertake research investigating the effects of nutritional, metabolic and endocrine factors on endometrial decidualization and endometrial-trophoblast interaction. The research will largely be undertaken using human organoids. The work will take place in the Institute of Metabolic Science under the joint supervision of Professor Stephen O'Rahilly and Prof Catherine Aiken (Dept of Obstetrics and Gynecology). The post holder will have a PhD in a relevant area, a high level of skill in molecular and cell biology and a good understanding of the science of mammalian reproduction.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 31 July 2027 in the first instance.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment. This appointment also requires a Research Passport application.

Appointment at Research Associate level is dependent on having a PhD. Those who have submitted but not yet received their PhD will initially be appointed as a Research Assistant (Grade 5, Point 38 £34,132) moving to Research Associate (Grade 7) upon confirmation of your PhD award.
