Post-Doctoral Research Scientist (m/f/d) in the field of Physics, Chemistry or Process Engineering

Renewable Energy Technologies and Hydrogen

Our challenges:

• Development of strategic research directions in the fields of hydrogen aviation and future renewable energy technologies in search for long-term solutions to achieve climate neutrality
• Leading research on green hydrogen and sustainable aviation fuels (SAF), including innovative conversion pathways based on solar energy (e.g. sun-to-liquid-2.eu) and residual biomass (e.g. project-circulair.eu), with system-level life cycle and techno-economic analysis
• Acquisition and implementation of multi-partner projects, and coordination of national and European research networks
• Supervision of PhD students and undergraduates
• Communication of research results and recommendations through journal publications, conferences and media channels

We need you because:

• You have successfully completed your studies with a PhD in physics, chemistry or process engineering, and you convince with a profound understanding of renewable energy technologies and hydrogen
• You bring scientific creativity in combination with strong quantitative analytical skills and programming expertise to our team
• You have a strong interest in climate-impact mitigation, SAF pathways, and life-cycle and/or cost analysis
• You are familiar with sustainability aspects of renewable energy technologies and you have proven that you can work your way into new topics
• You are passionate about contributing scientific answers to enable the transition to renewable energy and fuels in aviation
• You are interested in multidisciplinary, target-oriented tasks within joint academic or industry projects
• You are proficient in German and English
