Offer Description
The SARDIAS project is aimed to develop an advanced and integrated system for the diagnosis, monitoring, and prevention of infectious and parasitic diseases in farmed fish in Sardinia, in support of sustainable and competitive aquaculture. The project includes the strengthening of laboratory activities and health monitoring in fish farms through anatomopathological, parasitological, and molecular approaches, with the objective of improving knowledge on the main fish diseases, host–pathogen interactions, and the impact of management practices on animal health and welfare, with a view to improving the use of veterinary medicines and reducing the risk of antimicrobial resistance. The results of the project will be incorporated into a dedicated database and shared with sector operators and institutional stakeholders, in line with the One Health approach to enhance the regional aquaculture system.
