Post-Graduate Athletic Intern, Red Raider Club
Position Description
The Texas Tech University Postgraduate Intercollegiate Athletics Internship is intended to provide on-the-job learning experiences for college graduates interested in pursuing a career in various areas of intercollegiate athletics. This program can last 12-36 months.
Future leaders will experience administration principles such as:
- Applying a standard of ethics to policy and administrative context
- Evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of current operations within area of assignment
- Communicating relevant information and ideas
- Managing university resources to achieve organizational goals
Major/Essential Functions
- Engage with Red Raider Club members and various donor segments over the phone and in person on annual gifts, membership benefits, and other operations of the annual fund.
- Provide a high level of service to all RRC members and potential members.
- Assist the Assistant Director, Annual Giving, with the retention process, including eThank You communications.
- Help with RRC game day operations for football, including oversight of a specific premium area.
- Assist the Director, Annual Fund, with necessary database account maintenance, including merging duplicates and updating donor information in accordance with established processes.
- Must have excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to handle multiple projects at a time and great attention to detail.
- Support other functions for the RRC annual fund as necessary, including gift processing, premium services, stewardship, events, etc.
- Coordinate general tasks such as inputting ticket requests, processing payments in PAC, event RSVPs, and other tasks and projects as needed
- Comply with all NCAA, Big 12, and Texas Tech University rules, regulations, and policies.
- Attend events and athletic contests as requested.
Required Qualifications
Qualified applicants must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited university and previous experience with collegiate or professional athletics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, communications, sport management, marketing, or a related field.
- Experience working in collegiate athletics, fundraising, development, or donor relations preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and SharePoint.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, reporting, and record management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and organize data effectively.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
