Post-graduate Researcher in Cloud Computing Law

About the Role

This is an opportunity to join an established, high-profile, team that is working on various aspects of cloud computing and AI law. Members of the team also teach on courses in cloud computing law and related subjects in London, Paris, and online. For this recruitment round, we are particularly interested in applications from researchers with legal expertise and experience in any of these fields: AI, robotics, neurolaw, and cybersecurity. Other relevant legal expertise and experience will also be considered.

The post is based at our Lincoln’s Inn Fields Campus in London. It is full-time (35 hours per week) for a fixed-term of 2 years.

About You

Candidates must have a master’s degree in law (or another relevant subject), and either a PhD in law or substantial relevant legal professional experience. You must also have relevant specialist knowledge and expertise (see Job Pack (available on the university's website, accessed by the 'Apply' button)). Familiarity with the EU’s Digital Strategy and proposed Digital Omnibus Regulation is desirable.

Candidates close to completion of their PhD will initially be appointed in the junior research training zone of the salary scales. Grade 4, Spinal Point 25-26 (£38,419-£39,022 per annum).

About the Project

The Centre for Commercial Law Studies (CCLS) at Queen Mary University of London has received a multi-year academic donation from Microsoft to support research on a range of cloud computing and AI-related legal and regulatory issues (the ‘Cloud Legal Project’).
