Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Working closely with all 20 physicians in the group, our Nurse practitioner will assist in managing high acuity post-op patients with the best care possible.
• Cardiovascular issues include but not limited to acute coronary syndrome, chest pain, heart failure, arrhythmias, valvular disease, peripheral artery disease, aortic aneurysm, and venous thromboembolism/pulmonary embolism in our outpatient setting with collaborating physician.
• Will assist with medication adjustments dependent on patient's clinical status.
• Post operative cardiac evaluation.
• Order diagnostic studies, tests, labs and review pertinent labs/studies (nuclear imaging testing, EKGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, etc.).
• Review telemetry readings
• Educate patient on diagnosis, medications, dietary restrictions related to cardiovascular disease.
• Communicate with other specialties regarding patient care.
• Will also perform and supervise stress echoes in the office.

• This is a 5/8's role and will comprise of 100% out-patient care.
• The general working hours for this position will between: 8am to 5pm.
• There is no operating room or in-patient duties with this role.
• There are no weekends with this role

Candidates interested in this position MUST possess at least 1-year minimum experience in Cardiology, Cardiac, telemetry, or ICU.

Prior or current experience working in a high acuity setting is REQUIRED

Qualifications

Educational Requirements:

• Graduation from a Nurse Practitioner Program approved by the Board of Registered Nursing.
• MSN Degree Required

License/Certification Requirements:

• Current unrestricted Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner license issued by the State of California.
• Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Certificate or eligible to obtain.
• Furnishing number issued by the Board of Registered Nursing (BRN).
• National Board Certification for Nurse Practitioner
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Experience:

• Minimum one year Nurse Practitioner experience is required.
• Minimum two (2) years’ experience as an Advance Practice Nurse strongly preferred.
