The Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague is one of the leading scientific and educational institutions in the Czech Republic. It covers a wide scope of fields in Mathematics, Scientific Software, Physics, Chemistry, Material Sciences, or Nuclear Engineering. The Department of Software Engineering (DSE) conducts research and leads courses in areas related to scientific computing and data processing, data visualization, mathematical modeling and optimization, machine learning and artificial intelligence, etc. DSE provides courses for students in Bachelor’s, Master's, and also Doctoral programs. DSE operates a 3D print lab in Děčín and collaborates with several academic institutions, companies, medical centers, and public administration institutions. Several members of the department participate in LHC experiments at CERN.
The Dean of the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague, invites applications for a non-academic research position (starting researcher R1, recognized researcher R2, or established researcher R3) at the Department of Software Engineering located in Děčín, Czech Republic. The call is primarily intended for specialists in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, but also welcomes candidates from all areas of research in Computer Science, Informatics, or Applied Mathematics, including Software Engineering, Applied Informatics, Mathematical Modeling, Mathematical Optimization, Software Optimization, Distributed, Parallel, and Cluster Computing, Computational Geometry as well as research focused on Medical Visualization, Medical Computer Graphics, and 3D Modeling and Printing. The candidate is expected to conduct scientific research, software development and other creative activities within the projects at Department of Software Engineering focused on the application of AI in the field of 3D modeling in medicine. The Department of Software Engineering intends to fill the positions of Post-processing Engineer with the responsibility for the design of AI model post-processing and for building pipelines for reconstructing AI model outputs for 3D printing. Due to the project timeline, the position requires a start date of 1 January 2027.
The salary offered is up to 100,000 CZK/month (4,000 EUR/month), depending on the candidate's competencies. A hybrid work model is anticipated, with the possibility of accommodation provided in Děčín.

- A Master's degree (Ph.D. in Computer Science / Informatics / Applied Mathematics is an advantage),
- proficiency in the English language (knowledge of Czech or Slovak is an advantage),
- proven experience in designing and implementing AI/ML models or proven experience in medical visualization, medical computer graphics, or 3D modeling,
- proficiency in programming in Python (knowledge of C++ or C# is an advantage),
- a stable publication record in journals indexed in Web of Science or Scopus, with a publication profile corresponding to the length of professional experience, is an advantage,
- experience with international scientific collaboration is an advantage,
- experience with CAD/CAM systems is an advantage.
