Recruitment Range
$34,560 - $37,471
The salary range advertised is the designated recruitment range for this classification. Final salary offers will be determined by the candidate’s education, relevant experience, internal equity alignment, and departmental budgetary parameters.

Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
Postal Service provides centralized mail service to the UNCW campus and community. Provide a full range of postal services such as passports service, university-wide mail services, student mail services, standard mail services, and USPS contract station.
Brief Summary of Work for this Position
This Postal Associate provides support for both Passport and Postal Services in the areas of administrative support. The position is responsible for keeping track of all expenses, revenue and inventory controls, billings, monthly and daily reconciliation of sales and expenses, overseeing cash handling procedures, balancing both USPS and UNCW accounting systems, preparing daily cash deposits, and other duties needed to ensure accounting operations. Knowledge of passports and postal operations is very helpful to the success of this position. This position reviews passport applications, photographs, and identification and supporting documentation for completeness prior to adjudication. The Postal Associate ensures the applications and documents comply with passport requirements, that the photograph meets passport standards, and the customer is provided fee information. The position is expected to perform all other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalency.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Ability to operate a camera, computer, and cash register, and a variety of other office tools and machines.
- Knowledge of USPS postal regulations, operation, and resources.
- Knowledge of the operation of PC, mail metering, and POS system.
- Knowledge of postal safety and security regulations.
Required Certifications or Licensures
- Valid NC Driver's License.
- Annual certification as a passport acceptance agent or ability to obtain certification once hired.
FTE: 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week)
Months Per Year: 12 Months
Work Days: Monday - Friday
Work Hours: 7:30am - 4:30pm
