Job Summary
Support the Zwicky Transients Facility (ZTF) project by helping run systematic experiments. This involves systematic filtering of the ZTF alert system, vetting these candidates daily, obtaining spectroscopic follow-up with P60/P200/Keck, reducing spectroscopic data, classifying the type of transient, and updating the Fritz Marshal.
Essential Job Duties
- Reduce and analyze spectroscopic data.
- Develop a spectroscopic data reduction pipeline for NGPS.
- Observe remotely with the Palomar 200-inch telescope.
- Program in Python.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in physics, astronomy, or computer science.
- Fluent in Python programming.

Hiring Range
$18.50 – $25.00 per hour
