Offer Description
Activities and context: The fellow's responsibilities will include conducting experiments focused on three main pillars: (1) Evaluation of the effects of antimicrobial photodynamic therapy (APDT) on phytopathogenic and/or spoilage fungi, both in vitro and in vivo; (2) Directed selection for increased fungal resistance to APDT, followed by comparative genomics data analysis to identify the genes and mechanisms involved in this process; (3) Identification of mechanisms associated with the tolerance of filamentous fungal biofilms to APDT.
Mandatory requirements: A Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences or related fields, with a Master's and/or PhD in Microbial Genetics or related subfields, completed within the last seven years, in accordance with FAPESP regulations. Experience in microbiology – with an emphasis on antimicrobial susceptibility testing – and in fungal molecular genetics, particularly functional genomics and transcriptomics, is required. Proficiency in English.
Desirable requirements: The candidate should have experience in mycology, familiarity with phytopathology, and skills in conducting field experiments. Familiarity with antimicrobial photodynamic therapy (APDT) and bioinformatics, as well as a solid track record in writing and publishing articles in scientific journals, are also desirable requirements.

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationality.
