Postdoc In Wireless Propagation at mm-waves and sub-THz for Electromagnetic Field Exposure
Job Summary: The EU-funded ETAIN project explores the impact of radio-frequency (RF) electromagnetic field exposure on planetary health. This role focuses on improving understanding of RF propagation in the D-band (110-170 GHz) and its influence on RF-EMF exposure through channel modeling, propagation measurements, and digital ray tracing.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of researchers at TU/E and other EU partners to quantify RF electromagnetic field propagation using channel measurements and ray tracing.
- Communicate simulation and measurement results to scientists from diverse backgrounds and report findings to the scientific community and the general public.
- Create and maintain public databases and online tools for accessing project results related to RF-EMF exposure.
- Ensure timely execution of project tasks, milestones, and deliverables.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Hold a thesis-based doctorate in Electrical Engineering, Physics Engineering, or Applied Physics.
- Proficiency in numerical simulations, use of electromagnetic measurement instruments (e.g., vector network analyzers with frequency extenders), and scientific project management.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct high-quality academic research and manage complex projects.
- Thrive in an international team, take ownership of research, and enjoy coaching students.
- Strong verbal and written English skills, along with good communication and leadership abilities.
