Mandatory requirements: PhD in Geophysics, Geology, Physics, or a related field; demonstrated experience in paleomagnetism and paleointensity; experience with high-sensitivity magnetic microscopy, particularly QDM, SQUID, or equivalent techniques; expertise in magnetization-component analysis, quantitative data processing, and scientific programming.
Desirable requirements: Experience in petrography and rock magnetism; familiarity with FORC, IRM, magnetic susceptibility, and thermomagnetic analyses; experience with remagnetization, multicomponent magnetic signals, or Neoproterozoic records; familiarity with mineralogical characterization of magnetic carriers; publications in related fields.
How to apply: Submit a CV, a statement of interest (maximum 2 pages), up to three relevant publications, and contact information for two referees. The statement should highlight experience in paleomagnetism, paleointensity, magnetic microscopy/QDM, integration of classical and modern magnetic data, and analysis of complex magnetic signals. Email subject: “Postdoc Magnetic Microscopy – Neoproterozoic.”
This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationality. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 12,570.00 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent on items directly related to the research activity.
