Department: Jan Křivánek Research Group: Dental Development and Regeneration – Faculty of Medicine
Deadline: 31 Jan 2026
Start date: April 2026 or upon agreement
Job type: full-time
Job field: Science and research
We offer a postdoctoral position with a topic focused on understanding key mechanisms of developmental biology. More precisely the applicant will have the opportunity to study molecular and cellular aspects responsible for tissue micro and macropatterning, soft and hard-tissue regeneration and repair from a comprehensive point of view using state-of-the-art approaches. Our research group reveals various processes involved in maintaining stem cell niche homeostasis, their phenotypical changes after injury, the control of growth dynamics, mechanobiology and development, regeneration and micropatterning of hard tissues (teeth and bones). To achieve our scientific objectives, we use comprehensive methodological approaches including single-cell RNA-sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, genetically modified organisms (lineage tracing, conditional knockouts, engineering of new genetically modified strains etc.), advanced imaging techniques including confocal, light sheet or super-resolution microscopy, scanning and transmission electron microscopy, nano/micro-CT, mathematical modelling and many others. All of our projects are based on large network of local and international collaborators. This offers multiple opportunities of traveling, networking and gaining experience also outside our lab.
Our research group offers vibrant environment full of enthusiastic people helping each other with a common aim to produce highly-visible publications in high-impact journals.
