Offer Description
Work environment : Qualisud joint research unit on food quality for research in microbiology, molecular biology, and mycotoxin analysis at the University of Montpellier and CIRAD;
Main mission :
- Diagnose of contamination of tomatoes by Alternaria fungal pathogen and their mycotoxins
- Control of Alternaria disease using pre- and post-harvest biocontrol methods.
The gross monthly salary is €2,300
The contract duration is 4 months

Skills/Qualifications
- Hold a PhD in Food Microbiology;
- Have field experience;
- Have laboratory experience, particularly in microbiology and biochemistry;
- Have an aptitude for and interest in working in challenging field and workshop conditions;
- Be free of any commitments for the entire duration of the project;
- Be able to work effectively in a team and under pressure;
- Be able to supervise colleagues and participate in the mentoring of Master's students;
- Be available immediately after selection;
- Be available for several research stays of a few months each in France during the postdoctoral position;
- Be able to communicate clearly and rigorously in writing and orally in French. Proficiency in scientific English is considered a significant asset; candidates must provide proof of this.
- Possess sound knowledge of microbiology methods and statistical data analysis tools;
- Be proficient in computer skills, including a good working knowledge of basic software (MS Office applications such as MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and online research tools.
