Job description
Description of tasks:
- Design and execute an interdisciplinary research project aligned with the submitted proposal and aligned with the overarching scientific goal of the programme, which is the development of next-generation organic materials for optoelectronic applications or the novel methodology for their synthesis.
- Collaborate closely with a mentor from IChO and a co-mentor from an international partner institution to guide project development and growth.
- Contribute to training activities organised by the project, including the creation and implementation of the Career Development Plan (CDP), with the goal of advancing professional skills and their own career perspectives.
- Participate in an international secondment to a research or industry organisation for a minimum of 3 months.
- Disseminate research findings through publications in peer-reviewed journals, conference presentations, participation in scholarly networks and co-creating and spreading materials for the general public.

Required competencies
Doctoral Degree: Applicants must hold a PhD by the call deadline in chemistry, physics, biology, or a related field or possess a formal document confirming the defence of a doctoral thesis before the deadline of the Call.

Benefits
Terms of employment: Full-time position, temporary contract for 36 months. The gross monthly salary:
Basic salary: ~4 350 EUR gross monthly, (total funding*: 5 200 EUR)
Mobility allowance: gross ~418 EUR (total funding*: 500 EUR),
Family allowance (if applicable): gross ~334 EUR (total funding*: 400 EUR)
*Total funding includes the gross salary and employer social security contributions

- a scientific CV listing publications, patents, and ongoing grants;
- a motivation letter;
- diplomas and certificates confirming qualifications (PhD title), completed courses, completed training, etc., those documents shall be issued in or translated into English language;
- consent to the processing of the Candidate's personal data for the purposes of the competition.

Selection process
Candidate evaluation criteria
All applications will be evaluated in two main areas: proposal evaluation (70%) and Candidate’s professional experience and competencies (30%)
Proposal will be evaluated against 3 main criteria:
- Excellence,
- Impact,
- Implementation
Candidate’s professional experience and competencies will be evaluated against 3 main criteria:
- Scientific record (quality of publications, patents, and involvement in research grants);
- Mobility and international experience (international experience, scientific exchanges, change of professional profile);
- Professional competencies (knowledge of techniques necessary to implement the project, management skills).
Second stage (Interview) evaluation criteria are as follows:
- Scientific knowledge (depth of knowledge in organic chemistry and understanding of the proposed research area);
- Presentation skills (clarity, structure, innovation, and scientific relevance of the presentation);
- Communication & interaction (ability to answer questions, communicate ideas, and demonstrate critical thinking).
