This project aims to revolutionize prostate cancer diagnosis by identifying in urines of patients robust and non-invasive VOC signatures specific of significant prostate cancer. You will explore the direct link between volatile chemical signatures and tumor metabolic pathways, with a specific focus on fatty acid metabolism.

Presentation of the missions :
Under the supervision of the analytical research leads, you will be responsible for the development and optimization of VOC sampling and analysis methods. Your tasks will include: (1) Optimization of sampling techniques: development of extraction protocols for VOCs from cell lines and urine samples using SPME or a thermal micro-extraction chamber; (2) TD/GC-MS analysis (QqQ and TOF): optimization and implementation of analytical methods for metabolomic profiling of samples; (3) Data processing: identification of candidate biomarkers (chromatogram alignment, deconvolution, normalization) and chemometric analysis; (4) Interdisciplinary collaboration: close interaction with biologists (cell culture) and clinicians to integrate chemical data into machine learning models; (5) Dissemination: writing high-impact scientific articles and presenting results at national and international conferences.
