Prof. Dongkyu Lee's research laboratory ADOL (Advanced Design Optimization Lab) in the Department of Architectural Engineering at Sejong University invites applications for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher. The successful candidate will lead original research and pursue publications in the world’s most influential engineering journals. Our laboratory conducts internationally competitive research in structural and computational mechanics, topology optimization, multi-physics analysis, physics-informed AI, digital twins, advanced materials, additive manufacturing, and Pure Anti-Gravity Structure (PAGS) theory. The laboratory has published more than 100 international journal papers, including articles in leading journals in mechanics, structural engineering, optimization, composite materials, and engineering informatics. Our work focuses on developing original theories, numerical frameworks, and computational technologies with global academic impact. The group currently consists of 10 Korean and international master’s and doctoral researchers working in a collaborative and interdisciplinary environment.
Research Areas
- Structural and computational mechanics
- Topology and structural optimization
- Nonlinear, dynamic, buckling, fracture, and multi-physics analysis
- Finite element and adjoint sensitivity analysis
- Physics-informed AI and scientific machine learning
- Digital twins and AI-based engineering design
- Advanced materials, additive manufacturing, and PAGS (Pure Anti-Gravity Structure Theory)-related interdisciplinary research
- Open by other topics which SCIE paper publications are available
Annual Publication Requirements
During the one-year contract, the researcher must independently satisfy both requirements below:
Requirement 1 - At least 4 SCIE papers in journals ranked within the top 10% of their JCR categories.
Requirement 2 - At least 1~2 additional SCIE papers in journals ranked within the top 1% of their JCR categories.
*4 top-10% papers + 2 separate top-1% papers = 6 papers in total
Important: The two top-1% papers are not counted among the four top-10% papers. Final acceptance, online publication, or formal publication during the contract period may be recognized in accordance with the laboratory’s publication evaluation criteria. But, the paper condition may be flexible by obvious reasons.
Additional Publication Incentive
After the complete seven-paper annual requirement has been fulfilled, the researcher will receive:
KRW 1,500,000 ~ 3,000,000 for each additional eligible paper beyond the required seven
Employment Conditions
