Within the project “Digital Centre of Excellence for Cultural Heritage: Innovation in Digitisation and Digital Exploitation through Cutting-Edge Technologies”, Funding Contract No. 3CoEx/2026, the candidate will support the project’s research, development, and innovation activities by participating in 3D scanning, data acquisition and processing, the creation and validation of 3D digital models, and their integration into digital applications. The candidate will contribute to the documentation, modeling, and valorization of cultural heritage through the use of advanced digital technologies.

Skills/Qualifications
Based on the specific expertise required, the candidate should:
- Contribute to the development, optimization, and validation of 3D digital models using CAD applications and other specialized software tools;
- Participate in 3D scanning activities (laser scanning, photogrammetry, structured-light scanning) and in the processing of point clouds required for the creation of digital models;
- Participate in the reconstruction, modeling, and digital documentation of the objects and structures analyzed within the project;
- Contribute to the optimization of 3D models for integration into augmented, virtual, and mixed reality applications (AR/VR/MR);
- Collect, organize, process, and manage data resulting from research, measurement, and scanning activities;
- Participate in the development of prototypes, experiments, and tests for validating the solutions developed within the project;
- Contribute to the integration and use of the software and hardware components required for carrying out research activities;
- Develop and use software applications, digital tools, and workflows for processing and exploiting the acquired data;
- Prepare technical documentation, studies, analyses, and research reports, and contribute to the preparation of the project’s scientific publications;
- Collaborate with members of the interdisciplinary team in the integration, validation, and exploitation of research results;
- Participate in dissemination and promotion activities for research results through conferences, workshops, publications, and other relevant activities;
- Comply with research ethics and integrity standards, as well as regulations concerning intellectual property and information confidentiality.
Specific Requirements
- The candidate must hold a PhD degree in Industrial Engineering;
- The candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of professional experience;
- Knowledge and experience in 3D scanning technologies, including laser scanning, photogrammetry, and structured-light scanning;
- Experience in the acquisition and processing of point clouds and data resulting from scanning activities, as well as advanced skills in the modeling, reconstruction, and optimization of 3D digital models;
- Experience in the use of CAD applications and other specialized software tools for modeling and simulation;
- Ability to integrate and use software and hardware components in research activities;
- Experience in prototyping and conducting experimental tests for the validation of developed solutions;
- Knowledge of the management and organization of data and information resulting from research activities;
- Experience in preparing studies, analyses, technical documentation, reports, and scientific publications;
- Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team and to collaborate with project partners;
- Experience or demonstrated interest in the dissemination and valorization of research results through publications, conferences, and workshops;
- Compliance with the principles of research ethics and integrity, as well as regulations concerning intellectual property and information confidentiality.
