Job Description

The Department of Computer Science, the Department of Electrical and Computing Engineering, and the Innovation Campus at Virginia Tech will be jointly hosting a Postdoctoral Associate. This postdoctoral researcher will work under the supervision of Prof. Bo Ji and Prof. Lingjia Liu, conducting research on immersive communication/computation-aware optimization of next-generation wireless networks. Required Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or related field by the time of appointment. Ph.D. must be awarded no more than four years prior to the effective date of appointment with a minimum of one year eligibility remaining.
• Demonstrated research experience in areas of interests, including mobile immersive computing, on-device AI, and next-generation wireless networks, through publications.
• Strong communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Publications in top-tier venues in networking and mobile computing, such as MobiCom, MobiSys, INFOCOM, IEEE Transactions on Networking, IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing, and IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communication.

Overtime Status: Exempt: Not eligible for overtime

Appointment Type: Restricted

Salary Information: Commensurate with experience

Hours per week: 40
