Job Summary

The Internet Systems and Learning Lab (ISL) is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate. This position involves working with graduate students and faculty in the Computer Systems Lab on projects centered around the theme of systems for AI and AI for systems, which includes the combination of computer architecture, large language models, next-generation networks, multimedia, and storage systems. The successful applicant’s research activity will also be accelerated by regular interaction with Ph.D. students there, providing an opportunity to develop research leadership skills.

Who We Are

The Internet Systems and Learning Lab (ISL) within the Computer Systems Lab in the Computer Science Department at the University of Colorado Boulder carries out sponsored research on a variety of AI for Systems and Systems for AI projects.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

The successful candidate will carry out research in support of projects related to a variety of AI for Systems and Systems for AI projects, including, but not limited to, systems supporting large language models, volumetric video streaming, and next-generation wireless networks.

What We Can Offer

The starting salary range for this position is $27,000, which is the prorated amount for a 50% FTE appointment.

What We Require

A Ph.D. related to computer science or electrical engineering is required. Note: this is not necessarily a computer science degree and could also be an engineering degree or even an applied math Ph.D., so long as that Ph.D. developed strong computational science skills.

What You Will Need

Candidates will need experience to carry out research related to a variety of AI for Systems and Systems for AI projects, including, but not limited to, systems supporting large language models, volumetric video streaming, and next-generation wireless networks. Advanced experience in wireless networks, machine learning, and deep learning is essential. Coding and related computational science experience in these topics is also essential.

Commitment to growing skills in collaborative research, including associated software development skills and publishing developments in high-quality conferences and journals.
