Overview

A postdoctoral position is available in the lab of Dr. Gliniak in the Department of Nutritional Sciences. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong communication skills
  • A publication record consistent with career level
  • Interest in adipose tissue biology and inflammatory bowel disease
  • Proficiency in oral and written English

Salary will be commensurate with experience and in accordance with NIH and Rutgers guidelines.

The Gliniak Lab is an interdisciplinary and energetic research group housed on the Cook Campus in New Brunswick, NJ. The research team has access to state-of-the-art facilities in Genomics, Genetics, Proteomics, Confocal and High-Content Imaging, Histopathology, Analytical Chemistry, Flow Cytometry, and more.

This position offers opportunities to interact with members of the Departments of Nutritional Sciences, Food Sciences, and the Institute for Food Nutrition and Health. Responsibilities

  • Conduct research related to adipose tissue biology and inflammatory bowel disease
  • Utilize techniques including flow cytometry and single-cell RNA sequencing
  • Handle and breed mice as required for experiments
  • Participate in collaborative research and career development activities

Minimum Qualifications

  • PhD in Nutritional Sciences, Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology/Physiology, Biochemical Nutrition, or a related field
  • Proficiency in oral and written English
  • Computer literacy with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience handling and breeding mice
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with advanced lab techniques
  • Must have a car and be willing to travel to other campuses if required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional relevant lab experience

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs
