Postdoctoral Associate
Scientific Focus and Job Function:
The Pandey Lab at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center has an opening for a Postdoctoral Associate to study signaling and development pathways in mosses and vascular plants. The position requires a strong background in moss biology, molecular genetics, cell biology and phenotyping. Experience with high throughput data analysis is also required.
Postdocs in the lab are encouraged to develop independent research concepts supported by fellowship and grant applications. More information about the ongoing work in the Pandey Lab can be found at website link and publications link.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to handle multidisciplinary projects in a time-efficient manner
- Ability to direct one’s own research efforts as well as to critique project strategy
- Effective design and assembly of experiments/ research projects
- Ability to demonstrate project leadership and guidance for other research associates or graduate students as necessary
- Effective communication in both written and oral form
- Demonstrated collaboration skills
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Highly motivated, goal-oriented individual who can work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary and interactive research environment
- Effective communication skills and ability to produce high-quality manuscripts
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills

Education:
Exempt position. Ph.D. in relevant research area.
