Postdoctoral Associate or Associate Research Scientist

The Energy and Propulsion Laboratory (https://wp.nyu.edu/jryu) in the Division of Engineering, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a Postdoctoral Associate or Associate Research Scientist to work on aerospace propulsion.
The successful applicant will drive a fascinating project on the emerging technologies for propulsion systems. Responsibilities will include, but not limited to, fundamental studies of reactive flow, chemical kinetics, combustion, and detonation, for a wide range of propulsion applications, including rocket/hypersonic propulsion systems, gas turbine engines for unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), and sustainable aviation fuels for urban air mobility (UAM). The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of PhD-level scientists, graduate students, and undergraduate students.
Position Requirements
- PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
- Excellent reacting flow multi-physics computation experience in high-performance computing (HPC) environments
- Experience in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) codes and modeling
- Ability to present and publish results in peer-reviewed journal articles
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in code development using C++/C/Fortran and parallel computing
- Knowledge of hypersonic/rocket propulsion systems
- To be considered as an Associate Research Scientist, 3+ years of postdoctoral experience is required. For the Postdoctoral Associate position, postdoctoral experience is not required.
