Biology, Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, University at Buffalo. The Gulick Lab investigates the structural enzymology of proteins involved in the biosynthesis of bacterial natural products. Through combinations of structural biology, biochemical characterization, protein engineering, and biocatalysis, we aim to explore the ability of bacteria to produce diverse small molecules that are produced to help them adapt to the challenges of surviving in diverse environments. The postdoctoral associate will be responsible for: protein production, purification, and analysis, including development and implementation of biochemical assays informatic and genome mining to identify, characterize, and understand the diverse biosynthetic pathways of bacterial sources protein structure determination through X-ray crystallography and/or cryo-electron microscopy and single particle analysis Data analysis, maintenance, and interpretation, including contributions on authoring publications and dissemination of research Learn more: Our benefits , where we prioritize your well-being and success to enhance every aspect of your life.
