Postdoctoral Fellow - Immunology Center of Georgia
Job Summary
Located at the Immunology Center of Georgia, applies in-silico as well as in-vitro and in-vivo methods to further unravel the genetics of cardiovascular diseases. We have a large dataset and are engaged in large networks of national and international collaborations like CARDIoGRAMplusC4D, Leducq, and others, and actively participate in data and sample exchange.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
- COMPUTATIONAL BIOLOGY: Interested or have a good command of bioinformatics or computational biology.
- WRITING: Preparing written and oral presentations of results for the team and the public.
- ELUCIDATION: Collaborating with computational and wet-lab biologists for mechanism elucidation.
- GENETICS: Genetics and biology of cardiovascular diseases.
- GWAS: Application of GWAS, molecular QTL, precision medicine, Single-cell RNA and ATACseq, Single-cell CRISPR screening techniques.
- MENTOR: Mentor of staff and students.
- MANAGING DATA: Maintaining and organizing large amounts of genetic data and summary statistics.
- OTHER: Perform other related duties incidental to work described herein.
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. degree from an accredited college or university.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (Work outside of normal business hours may be required). Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position. Recruitment Period: Until Filled.
