Description
We seek a Postdoctoral Associate with a PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. The successful candidate will specialize in acoustic sensors, device fabrication, and electromechanical, electrical, and optical characterization.
This position involves conducting translational research on next-generation, large-area nanofiber acoustic sensor platforms for structural health monitoring applications. The candidate will work in a transdisciplinary environment to develop and characterize nanofiber materials, as well as to build and test sensor prototypes.
Qualifications
- Acoustics & Data Acquisition: Experience with acoustic sensors and data acquisition systems, or 3–5 years of experience in a related research field.
- Microfabrication: Proven cleanroom experience and proficiency in microfabrication and device characterization.
- Characterization: Expertise in the electromechanical, optical, and thermal characterization of composite films, nanofibers, and functional devices.
- Electronics: Hands-on experience with electronics, including a strong knowledge of safety protocols and best practices for electrical systems.
- Teamwork & Independence: The ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a transdisciplinary team under the direction of senior advisors across various disciplines.
