Postdoctoral Fellow in AI Ethics, College of Arts and Sciences
Job Overview
We invite applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow in AI Ethics, to begin August 2026. We seek an applicant whose research addresses the ethical and societal implications of AI, with a demonstrated interest in public engagement and interdisciplinary collaboration. This is a one-year appointment with the possibility of renewal. The position is supported by the College of Arts and Sciences through the A&S Action Collaborative.
Essential Functions
The Fellow’s primary responsibilities are:
- pursuing independent or collaborative research aligned with CHaT’s core themes of AI explainability, ethics, and trustworthiness;
- providing assistance to all three centers with their public engagement work particularly as it relates to public engagement with AI;
- helping cultivate interdisciplinary connections across the College of Arts and Sciences.
Additional responsibilities may include contributing to programming, supporting ethics of AI engagement, and PEWS public engagement.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must hold a PhD in philosophy or a closely related field.
