technologies can support longevity and resilience among older adults, and the biological mechanisms that underlie healthy aging. Applicants with backgrounds in AI and data science, as well as in the biological sciences, are encouraged to apply. Potential research directions include developing or evaluating AI-enabled and digital tools that support cognitive health, functional independence, and well-being in later life; and investigating how genetic and epigenetic factors, the microbiome, and immune aging and inflammation relate to cognitive decline and age-related disease. Experience in research on cognitive health, dementia, or the biology of aging is also desirable. The postdoctoral fellow will engage in conducting data analyses, reporting study results, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, presenting at conferences, and grant writing, in addition to advancing their own area of research. The postdoctoral fellow will be under the mentorship and direction of Prof. Bei Wu, Provost and Distinguished Global Professor of Public Health at NYU Shanghai, and will receive professional development and academic networking opportunities across NYU’s Global Network. The position is based in Shanghai, China. The start date is flexible and, for international applicants, subject to immigration regulations. Earned PhD or equivalent in computer science, data science, engineering, biology, genetics, bioinformatics, microbiology, immunology, or other related fields. As part of its selection process, our selection committee looks for evidence of a strong track record of scholarly achievement (publications, honors, awards), grant writing experience, and the promise of continued achievement toward independence as a researcher. Strong research skills relevant to the applicant?s background, such as quantitative or computational methods (e.g., longitudinal data analysis, causal inference, machine learning, natural language processing, or large language models) or biological and bioinformatic methods (e.g., genomic, epigenomic, microbiome, or immunological analyses). Proficiency in at least one statistical or programming language, such as R, Python, Stata, or SAS, is preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in an interdisciplinary, international team.
