Department Information
The Department of Law invites applications for a post-doctoral position in Law and Information Technology, funded within the research program The Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program – Humanity and Society (WASP-HS). The post-doctoral student will be employed by the Department of Law.
The Department of Law is one of the larger departments at Stockholm University, with approximately 150 employees and around 5,500 students. More than 100 faculty members are engaged full-time in teaching and conducting the research on which the education is based. Around forty professors with different areas of legal specialization are affiliated with the department.
Project Description
Stockholm University is building a strong and dynamic environment for legal research relating to artificial intelligence and has a leading position in Sweden and the Nordic region.
The position is affiliated to the national research program WASP-HS and the research cluster The Rule of AI - AI, Regulation, and Society.
Main Responsibilities
A post-doctoral student must primarily devote his or her time to his or her own post-doctoral research (3 years full-time). Other duties may be included, such as teaching students, working in teaching teams, and administration (no more than 20% of the position).
Qualification Requirements
In order to qualify for a Postdoctoral position, applicants are required to hold a Swedish doctoral degree or an equivalent relevant degree from another country. The degree must have been completed no later than when the employment decision is made.
Assessment Criteria
It is considered an advantage if the doctoral degree or an equivalent degree was completed no more than three years prior to the application deadline. Fellows must have received a doctoral degree in a Social Sciences or Humanities subject no more than three years before the application deadline. Applicants must have adequate knowledge of Swedish or English.
About the Employment
The position is full-time and for a period of three years, with the possibility of extension if there are special reasons. The starting date is 1 January 2027 or as otherwise agreed.
