Postdoctoral Fellow- MCG-Immunology Center of GA
Job Summary
Aherrahrou's lab, located at the Immunology Center of Georgia, applies in-silico as well as in-vitro and in-vivo methods to further unravel the genetics of cardiovascular diseases. We have a large dataset and are engaged in large networks of national and international collaborations like CARDIoGRAMplusC4D, Leducq, and others, and actively participate in data and sample exchange.
Responsibilities
Conduct bioinformatics or computational biology. Apply GWAS, molecular QTL, precision medicine, Single-cell RNA and ATACseq, Single-cell CRISPR screening techniques. Genetics and biology of cardiovascular diseases. Collaborate with computational and wet-lab biologists for mechanism elucidation. Prepare written and oral presentations of results for the team and the public. Supervise staff and students. Maintain and organize large amounts of genetic data and summary statistics.
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. or equivalent from an accredited college or university.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases or willingness to learn.
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Detail-oriented with strong prioritization and organizational skills.
ABILITIES
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to complete work and meet deadlines.
Willingness and ability to work with research animals.
Ability to work independently with only general supervision.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (Work outside of normal business hours may be required).
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position.
This position is funded through external sources. Continued employment is contingent upon the availability of these funds.
