Postdoctoral Fellow

Job Description

We seek a PhD with a proven dual‑mode research profile capable of independently performing laboratory experiments and coding predictive AI models in Python to forecast biomaterial behaviour for use in dentistry. This is not a data-science-only position; prior hands-on experience in the production, characterization techniques of materials, and cell culture is required.

Core Responsibilities

  • Conduct independent testing on restorative and bioactive materials under simulated oral conditions.
  • Characterize biomaterials' composition, alkalinity, and mechanical properties independently.
  • Characterize independently biomaterials ' bioactivity using mammalian tissue culture assays to assess cell–material interactions.
  • Integrate experimental and computational workflows; analyse, document, and report results.
  • Prepare scientific manuscripts and grant proposals.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Dentistry.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and ability to work independently in laboratory characterization of the physical, mechanical, and biological properties of biomaterials, including use of a universal testing machine (mandatory) and rheometer (mandatory).
  • Demonstrated proficiency and independence in cell culture and molecular techniques, including qPCR, Western blotting, proliferation, and mineralization assays (all mandatory).
  • Experience in operating scanning electron microscope, confocal microscope, and HPLC independently.
  • Demonstrated experience in research papers in the field of biomaterials.

The selected candidate will be offered a competitive salary and benefits.
