Postdoctoral Fellow at the Division for Marine and Environmental Research, Laboratory for Physical Chemistry of Traces, for work in the field of natural sciences, subfield of interdisciplinary natural sciences – on the Croatian Science Foundation (HRZZ) project “Assessment of the significance and genesis of rhenium-containing particles in the marine environment” (RHEMAR), for a fixed term until November 30, 2027.

Skills/Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in scientific research (published scientific papers, oral presentations at scientific conferences, project work, etc.) and solid-phase extraction, as well as those with experience in marine fieldwork; preference will also be given to candidates whose doctoral thesis focused on trace elements in the marine environment.

Specific Requirements

Selected candidates who have achieved their higher qualifications outside Croatia will be required, before the signing of the employment contract, to obtain the Ruling on the Recognition of Foreign Higher Educational Qualifications issued by the Agency for Science and Higher Education.

The candidate cannot be employed as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Republic of Croatia for a total of more than four years.

With a candidate for the position of Postdoctoral Fellow who has already been employed as a Postdoctoral Fellow, an employment relationship can be established for a maximum of 4 years, and the candidate is required to submit a certificate of employment from the previous employer or previous employment contracts for the position of senior assistant.

The employment, according to the Rules of Croatian Science Foundation - for work on a project as Postdoctoral Fellow, can be contracted a maximum of two times (i.e. on two different projects) and only with candidates whose period between the enrolment in doctoral studies and this employment is no longer than 10 years. A work contract with a Postdoctoral Fellow can be concluded upon the consent of Croatian Science Foundation.

The employment includes a six-month trial period.

In accordance with Article 13 of the Gender Equality Act, persons of both sexes may compete in hiring competitions.
