Skills/Qualifications

The applicant must comply with the general conditions of the Article 39, paragraph 7 of the Croatian Law on Higher Education and Scientific Activity, as well as the following conditions:

• PhD academic degree in the area of Natural Sciences (field: Biology or Chemistry), or in the area of Biomedicine and Health (field: Fundamental Medical Sciences), or in the area of Interdisciplinary Sciences;
• Experience in molecular biology techniques;
• Experience in cell culture techniques;
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in gene expression analysis, protein analysis, and gene silencing, as well as those with a track record of scientific publications and conference presentations.

Eligibility criteria

The applicant must comply with the general conditions of the Article 39, paragraph 7 of the Croatian Law on Higher Education and Scientific Activity, as well as the following conditions:

• PhD academic degree in the area of Natural Sciences (field: Biology or Chemistry), or in the area of Biomedicine and Health (field: Fundamental Medical Sciences), or in the area of Interdisciplinary Sciences;
• Experience in molecular biology techniques;
• Experience in cell culture techniques;
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in gene expression analysis, protein analysis, and gene silencing, as well as those with a track record of scientific publications and conference presentations.

Additional comments

1. An employment relationship for the position of Senior Assistant for work on a project funded by the Croatian Science Foundation (HRZZ) may be established a maximum of two times, on two different projects, and only with a candidate whose period between enrolment in doctoral studies and employment in the position advertised in this vacancy does not exceed 10 years.
2. An employment relationship for the position of Senior Assistant is established for a fixed term of up to four years. With a candidate for the position of Senior Assistant who has already been employed as a Senior Assistant, an employment relationship may be established only for the time remaining up to 4 years, and the candidate is required to submit previous employment contracts or other proof of employment in the position of Senior Assistant.
3. In accordance with Article 13 of the Gender Equality Act, persons of both sexes may compete in hiring competitions;
4. The employment includes a six-month trial period;
5. Selected candidates who have achieved their higher qualifications outside Croatia will be required, before the signing of the employment contract, to obtain the Ruling on the Recognition of Foreign Higher Educational Qualifications issued by the Agency for Science and Higher Education
6.
