We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Immunologist to join Professor Dame Sarah Gilbert's Outbreak Pathogens Vaccine Group at the University of Oxford. You will investigate T- and B-cell immune responses to adenoviral-vectored and RNA vaccine antigens, helping to advance novel vaccines against emerging and outbreak pathogens towards clinical development.
Working within the preclinical team, you will evaluate vaccine immunogenicity with in vivo models, analyse and present experimental data, adapt laboratory protocols and contribute to the development of new approaches. You will also collaborate with internal and external researchers, contribute to scientific discussions, reports and publications, and support the training and supervision of junior team members.
Reporting to Senior Preclinical Immunologist Barbara Dema Jimenez, you will be a highly organised and motivated researcher with experience in immunological assessment and a strong commitment to high-quality, safe laboratory practice. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a highly collaborative and translational vaccine research programme with a strong track record in developing vaccines against globally important pathogens.
It is essential that you have a PhD/DPhil (or close to completion) in a relevant biological sciences subject. You must hold a UK Home Office Personal Licence. Practical experience with cellular immunology assays is a must. It is essential that you are self-motivated, technically competent and capable of working independently and methodologically in a laboratory. The ability to interpret scientific data, analyse and research complex issues and write factual reports is also essential.
