The Concrete, Sustainability and Smart Structures (https://www.c3sbarcelona.com) group at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC·BarcelonaTech) is seeking candidates to apply for a Beatriu de Pinós fellowship.
C3S works at the intersection of construction and digitalization: optimization of construction processes, new and alternative cementitious materials, sensor-based monitoring of concrete performance, and sustainability assessment of infrastructure. The group is involved in national projects and in large-scale European projects, working with both academic and industrial partners in Barcelona.
What we are looking for:
The selected candidate will develop their research project within one of the following four research lines:
- Early-age microcracking: monitoring and sensor development
- AI-driven management of sustainable concrete
- Digital twins of construction sites and information management
- Mathematical models for infrastructure impact and infrastructure economics
Eligibility:
- PhD obtained between 1 January 2019 and 31 December 2024 (date of thesis defence).
- At least 2 years of postdoctoral experience outside Spain, possibly split across institutions.
- Mobility rule: you must not have resided or worked in Spain for more than 12 months in the last 3 years.
- No previous Beatriu de Pinós grant, even partial.

- English, C1 or equivalent.
