Position Overview

• Full-time, fixed-term for 12 months
• Base salary: $82,057 – $136,048 (Academic Level A or B) + 17% superannuation
• Location: Dutton Park campus

The Queensland Alliance for Environmental Health Sciences (QAEHS) is seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow or Research Fellow to join its world-class research team. This role is ideal for early career researchers with a strong interest in environmental analytical chemistry, offering an opportunity to contribute to impactful research at one of Australia’s leading universities.

About This Opportunity

Supported by multiple ARC-funded research projects led by A/Prof Sarit Kaserzon, the successful candidate will conduct independent and collaborative research in environmental analytical chemistry, with a strong focus on high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS).

You will:

• Develop and implement analytical methods for targeted and suspect screening of environmental contaminants.
• Work across human biomonitoring and environmental sample analyses.
• Establish sensitive analytical workflows with robust quality control.
• Interpret HRMS data, perform MS/MS experiments, and quantify or semi-quantify analytes in complex matrices.
• Contribute to project design, grant development, and scientific publications.
• Supervise and mentor students involved in analytical chemistry research.

This position is available at Academic Level A or B, depending on your experience and qualifications.
